This module introduces diploma students to philosophical inquiry and the role of philosophy in developing critical minds through exposing them to different transformative philosophies which shape teaching and learning experiences. The module leads student teachers to discover African thought and philosophy and classical philosophies of education to develop a balanced appreciation of the role of both the heritage based thinking and global thought in the acquisition of life enablers. In so doing, the module will capacitate student teachers to meaningfully participate in the global knowledge economy and 21st century trends in education.
